Ο Πάνος Ηλιάδης γεννήθηκε και μεγάλωσε στο Κιλκίς. Από μικρή ηλικία ασχολήθηκε με τη μουσική, ξεκινώντας μαθήματα αρμονίου και μουσικής θεωρίας στο Πολυάνειο Ωδείο της Ιεράς Μητρόπολης Κιλκίς, ενώ παρακολούθησε και μαθήματα κρουστών στο τμήμα του Δήμου Κιλκίς.

Η επαφή του με την ποντιακή λύρα το 2003, στο Ωδείο “Στεφανίδου” με δάσκαλο τον Παυλάκη Δραμινό, υπήρξε καθοριστική. Από τότε, ακολουθεί μια πορεία γεμάτη αγάπη και αφοσίωση στην ποντιακή μουσική παράδοση, συνεργαζόμενος με καταξιωμένους καλλιτέχνες όπως ο αείμνηστος Γιώτης Γαβριηλίδης, η Πέλα Νικολαΐδου, ο Μπάμπης Ιορδανίδης, ο Λάμπης Παυλίδης και πολλοί άλλοι.

Ανεκτίμητο σχολείο για τον ίδιο υπήρξε η καθοδήγηση και οι συμβουλές του Γιώτη Γαβριηλίδη, μέσα από μια συνεργασία που σημάδεψε το στυλ παιξίματός του και τη μουσική του πορεία.

Από το 2018 έως το 2020 έζησε στην Κύπρο, όπου παρουσίασε την ποντιακή λύρα στο ΡΙΚ, συμμετέχοντας σε δύο τηλεοπτικές εκπομπές — μία αφιερωμένη στη Γενοκτονία των Ποντίων, και μία μουσική συνεργασία με τον Χριστάκη Αναστασίου, δείχνοντας την ευελιξία του στο ρεπερτόριο που αποδίδει με τη λύρα.

Ξεχωριστές στιγμές της διαδρομής του αποτελούν οι εμφανίσεις του στη Βαλτιμόρη (ΗΠΑ) το 2017 και στο Λονδίνο το 2025, σε δύο σημαντικές μουσικές βραδιές με έντονο ελληνικό χρώμα.

Σήμερα, ο Πάνος Ηλιάδης δρα ως λυράρης, τραγουδιστής και δάσκαλος ποντιακής λύρας, αφήνοντας το δικό του λιθαράκι στα ποντιακά δρώμενα, με σεβασμό και αγάπη για την παράδοση και τη λύρα.

 

 

Panos Iliadis was born and raised in Kilkis. From a young age, he became involved with music, taking lessons in keyboard and music theory at the Polyanio Conservatory of the Holy Metropolis of Kilkis, while also studying percussion in the music department of the Municipality of Kilkis.

His encounter with the Pontian lyra in 2003 at the Stefanidou Conservatory, under the guidance of teacher Pavlakis Draminos, proved to be pivotal. Since then, he has followed a path filled with love and dedication to Pontian musical tradition, collaborating with distinguished artists such as the late Giotis Gavriilidis, Pela Nikolaidou, Babis Iordanidis, Lambis Pavlidis, and many others.

An invaluable school for him was the mentorship and advice of Giotis Gavriilidis, through a collaboration that profoundly influenced his playing style and musical journey.

From 2018 to 2020, he lived in Cyprus, where he showcased the Pontian lyra on the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (RIK), participating in two television programs—one dedicated to the Genocide of the Pontians, and another featuring a musical collaboration with Christakis Anastasiou, highlighting his versatility in performing different repertoires on the lyra.

Among the most memorable moments of his career are his performances in Baltimore (USA) in 2017 and London in 2025, during two major music events rich in Greek character and emotion.

Today, Panos Iliadis continues his work as a lyra player, singer, and teacher of the Pontian lyra, leaving his own mark on the Pontian cultural scene, guided by deep respect and love for tradition and the instrument itself.
