Σάββας Καραμανλίδης & Άκης Παντζούρης

Ο Σάββας Καραμανλίδης γεννήθηκε το 1934 στα Κομνηνά Κοζάνης. Η καταγωγή του από τον Πόντο είναι από την Άγουρσα της Ματσούκας. Μεγάλωσε σε ένα καθαρά παραδοσιακό ποντιακό χωριό και σε μια οικογένεια η οποία είχε καλλιτεχνική φλέβα. Ο παππούς του ήταν ο Χαράλαμπος Λοϊζίδης από τον οποίο είχε πολλά ακούσματα και ένα μεγάλο αριθμό δίστιχων. Αργότερα είχε ακούσματα από τον πατέρα του Γαβριήλ Καραμανλίδη και από τον αδερφό του Στάθη Καραμανλίδη - ο πολύ γνωστός “Στάθιον τη Γαβριηλίνας” - με τον οποίο συμμετείχαν και στα περισσότερα μουχαπέτια του χωριού και σε πάρα πολλές ερασιτεχνικές ηχογραφήσεις. Ο Άκης Παντζούρης είναι ο εγγονός του κ. Σάββα Καραμανλίδη. Σαν γόνος μιας τέτοιας μουσικής οικογένειας ήτανε φυσικό να ακολουθήσει την ίδια πορεία έχοντας σαν βάση όλα αυτά τα μουσικά ερεθίσματα. Savvas Karamanlidis was born in 1934 in Komnina, Kozani, Greece. His origins from Pontos are from the village Agoursa in Matsouka, Trapezounta. He grew up in a purely traditional Pontian village and in a family that had musical origins. His grandfather was Charalambos Loizidis, from whom he had a lot of influence and had learned a large number of songs. Later on, he sang together with his father Gavriel Karamanlidis and his brother Stathis Karamanlidis - the well-known "Stathion ti Gavrilinas" - with whom he also participated in many village fesitivities and many amateur recordings. Akis Pantzouris is the grandson of Mr. Savvas Karamanlidis. As a son of such a musical family it was natural for him to follow the same musical course based on all these musical influences.

Giorikas Diamantis - Γιωρίκας Διαμαντής

Ο Γιωρίκας Διαμαντής γεννήθηκε στη Δράμα το 1983. Η καταγωγή του είναι μικρασιατική και ποντιακή. Από τη μεριά του πατέρα του οι πρόγονοι του έχουν έρθει από το χωριό Φουντουκλή της Νικομήδειας. Από τη μεριά της μητέρας του οι πρόγονοί του έχουν έρθει από το Καρς από το χωριό Γουζούλ. Με την ποντιακή μουσική ξεκίνησε να ασχολείται στα 12 του χρόνια πηγαίνοντας στο μουσικό σχολείο Δράμας έχοντας για δάσκαλο τον Γιάννη Μωυσίδη. Αργότερα παρακολούθησε μαθήματα και στον Παναγιώτη Κογκαλίδη. Από τα 14 του μέχρι τα 20 έπαιζε σε διάφορες εκδηλώσεις στη Δράμα και στα περίχωρα. Στα 20 του κατετάγην στο πολεμικό ναυτικό όπου υπηρετεί μέχρι και σήμερα. Ήταν από τα ιδρυτικά στελέχη του συλλόγου Ποντίων περιφερειακής ενότητας Χανίων ¨Η Ρωμανία¨ όπου και τους συνόδευε μουσικά με τη κεμεντζέ. Και από την Αθήνα εξακολουθεί να είναι μέλος του διοικητικού συμβουλίου. Πλέον ασχολείται στο σπίτι διασκευάζοντας διάφορα τραγούδια και γράφοντας μουσική Ποντιακή και όχι μόνο. Είναι παντρεμένος και πατέρας δύο κοριτσιών. Επίσης τα περισσότερα ποντιακά του βιώματα τα πήρε από τη γειτονιά του το Προάστειο Δράμας. Ευχαριστούμε θερμά τον κ. Γιωρίκα Διαμαντή για την συμμετοχή του στο Ράδιο Τραπεζουντα Βοστώνης!

Giorikas Diamantis was born in Drama in 1983. His family’s origins are from Asia Minor and Pontos. From his father's side, his ancestors have come from the village of Fountoukli of Nicomedia. From his mother's side, his ancestors have come from Kars from the village of Guzul. He began playing Pontian music at the age of 12 by going to the Drama Music School, having Giannis Moisidis as a teacher. Later he also went to Panagiotis Kogkalidis to learn as well. From the age of 14 to 20 he played in various events in Drama and the immediate area. At the age of twenty he was assigned to the Hellenic navy where he serves until today. He was one of the founding members of the Pontian Club of Chania Crete, "Romania", where he accompanied them musically with the Pontian lyra (kementze). Now living in Athens, he is still a member of the board of directors. Currently he plays and records at home by making various songs and writing Pontian music but not exclusively. He is married and the father of two girls. Most of Giorika’s Pontian experiences were at his neighborhood of Proasteio Drama. Dimitrios Dallas - Δημήτριος Ντάλας

Ο Δημήτρης (Μήτσος) Ντάλας γεννήθηκε και μεγάλωσε στο Σικάγο. Η οικογένειά του έχει ρίζες στην Ελλάδα από το Καρπενήσι, την Τρίπολη και την Άμφισσα. Είναι μέλος του συγκροτήματος Endasi από το ντεμπούτο του το 2003. Ξεκίνησε όμως τη μουσική του καριέρα, ωστόσο, στην ηλικία των 10 ετών, όταν ένας τοπικός θρύλος του Σικάγου, ο Βασίλης Γαϊτάνος, τον τράβηξε στη σκηνή για να παίξει μπουζούκι σ' έναν χορό. Από τότε, ο Δημήτρης έχει βρεθεί σε μια μουσική περιπέτεια, μαθαίνωντας όργανα και διάφορες παραδόσεις της Ελλάδος στην πορεία του. Είτε πρόκειται για βιολί, λαούτο ή κλαρινό, ο Δημήτρης βρίσκει ξεχωριστή ομορφιά σε οποιαδήποτε μελωδία και πραγματικά ζει στη μουσική. Ο μεγάλος έρωτας του Δημήτρη όμως είναι η τσαμπούνα. Αυτό που ξεκίνησε ως ένα πείραμα τον οδήγησε στο να κατασκευάζει το ίδιο το όργανο και να συνεχίσει να μαθαίνει τις διαφορετικες τεχνικές σ' αυτό το σχεδόν εξαφανισμένο όργανο. Ο Δημήτρης είχε το προνόμιο να παίζει και να μαθαίνει από μεγάλους μουσικούς όπως τον Πάνο Μενέξη, τον Jim Stoyanoff, τον Χρήστο Γκοβέτα, τον Μιχάλη Τζουγανάκη, τον Γιώργο Σοφιανίδη, τον Γιάννη Κλαδάκη, τον Μανώλη Χούλλη, την Ορχήστρα Αλφα Ωμέγα και πολλούς άλλους. Ο Δημήτρης παίζει επαγγελματικά τσαμπούνα, κλαρίνο, γκαϊντα, σαντούρι, ζούρνα, λύρα ποντιακή και κρητική, λαούτο, βιολί, ακκορντεόν και μπουζούκι.

Είναι ιδιαίτερη χαρά να βλέπεις έλληνες μη-ποντιακής καταγωγής να ασχολούνται με την ποντιακή παράδοση μας. Ευχαριστούμε θερμά Μήτσο! Περιμένουμε κι άλλα τραγούδια!

Dimitri (Mitso) Dallas was born and raised in Chicago. His family has roots in Greece from Karpenisi, Tripoli and Amfissa. He has been a member of the band Endasi since its debut in 2003. He started his musical career, however, at the age of 10 when a local Chicago legend, Vasilis Gaitanos, pulled him on stage to play bouzouki during one of his venues. Since then, Dimitri has been on a musical adventure, learning instruments and styles along the way. Whether it be violin, laouto, or klarino (clarinet), Dimitri finds a distinct beauty in any melody and truly lives in the music. Dimitri is most fond of the tsabouna (Greek Island Bagpipe). What started as an experiment led him to making the instrument himself and to continue learning the different styles and techniques that this near extinct instrument had to offer. Dimitri has had the privilege of playing with and learning from such musicians as the late Panos Menexis, Jim Stoyanoff, Christos Govetas, Mixalis Tzouganakis, Giorgos Sofianidis, Yiannis Kladakis, Manolis Houllis, the Alpha Omega Sound and many more. Dimitri professionally plays Tsabouna, Clarinet, Gaida, Santouri, Zourna, Lyra (Pontos and Crete), Laouto, Violin, Accordion & Bouzouki.

It is a great pleasure to see Greeks of non-Pontian origin learning to play our music and our traditions. Thank you so much Mitso! We expect to hear more from you!

Theofilos Aslanidis - Θεόφιλος Ασλανίδης

Ο Θεόφιλος Ασλανίδης γεννήθηκε στη Νέα Σάντα Κιλκίς το 1986 και κατάγεται από την ενορία Τσακαλάντων στη Σαντά του Πόντου. Έζησε και μεγάλωσε ανάμεσα σε Πόντιους πρώτης και δεύτερης γενιάς γνωρίζοντας τη μουσική παράδοση του Πόντου. Άρχισε να τραγουδά και να παίζει λύρα σε μικρή ηλικία καθώς υπήρξε και πολλά χρόνια χορευτής. Εκτός από τα παραπάνω ασχολήθηκε με το αγγείο (τουλούμ) ενώ συγχρόνως αφοσίωσε τον εαυτό του στην έρευνα και την καταγραφή για την διάσωση της πολιτισμικής μας ταυτότητας. Εμφανίζεται σε διάφορες εκδηλώσεις και σε κέντρα διασκέδασης ενώ μετρά εμφανίσεις και στο εξωτερικό. Μερικές από τις σημαντικότερες δουλείες του είναι η συνεργασία του με τον αείμνηστο Σανταίο καλλιτέχνη Χαράλαμπο Εφραιμίδη, και η συνεργασία του με τον καλλιτέχνη Χρήστο Παπαδόπουλο. Έχει ήδη ένα προσωπικό δίσκο με τίτλο “Νουνίζω και Αρωθυμώ”. Ευχαριστούμε θερμά τον κ. Θεόφιλο Ασλανίδη για την συμμετοχή του στο Ράδιο Τραπεζούντα Βοστώνης!

Theophilos Aslanidis was born in Nea Santa, Kilkis, Greece in 1986. His family comes from the Tsakalanton region in Santa, Pontos. He grew up among first and second generation Pontians, learning from them the musical traditions of Pontus. Theofilos began singing and playing lyra at an early age while at the same time he would participate in the dance groups. He learned bagpipe (aggeion or “touloum”) as well, while at the same time devoted himself to research and recording for the reservation of our cultural identity. He has appeared in various events and in entertainment venues both in Greece and abroad. Some of his most important collaborations was with the late artist Charalambos Efraimidis and with the artist Christos Papadopoulos. He already has a personal album titled "Nounizo kai Arothymo” (I think and I yearn). We would like to cordially thank Mr. Theofilos Aslanidis for his participation in Radio Trapezounta Boston!
